Our Care Homes in Essex

We own and operate 4 Residential Care Homes across Essex including Braintree, Colchester, Alresford, Walton-on-the-Naze. Each provides professional, friendly and attentive care for our residents.

We appreciate that moving into residential care is a major life change and one that takes some getting used to. Our friendly teams work extremely hard to help our service users feel at home, and to give their families the support they need at this stressful time.

Our Homes

Hobbies & Activities

Butterfly’s Care Group is passionate about activity-based care, giving service users the freedom to continue doing the hobbies and activities they've always loved. We support them in spending quality time with family and friends and encourage them to play an active part in care home life.

Communication

All of our residential care homes are bright, clean, warm and welcoming settings where carers and service users develop strong bonds and enjoy spending time together. Our carers pride themselves on making mealtimes and menus enjoyable and fun, and if a service user wants to have a cup of tea and a one-on-one chat, that's fine by us too. We recruit our staff as much for their big hearts as for their impressive caring skills. Ask any of them and they're likely to tell you that it’s those little jokes, shared stories and quiet moments with service users that make their work so rewarding.

Home Comforts

Home Comforts

Step inside a Butterfly's care home and be prepared to leave the typical view of care homes behind. Our nursing homes are clean, spacious and provide a comfortable and safe environment for our service users to live in. All of our homes offer a warm and friendly welcome, with cosy and inviting lounges and communal spaces. Service users are welcome to personalise their rooms to make them feel more like home.

Friends & Family

Friends & Family

We want service users and their families to see our care homes as their own, from the very first day they move in. So, as a valued family member, you are welcome to drop in anytime and stay as long as you like. We'd love you to get as involved as you can, and our care homes have active relative and client committees to encourage feedback, make plans and share information.

Moving In & Forging Relationships

Moving In & Forging Relationships

We understand that a loved one's move into a care home can be a difficult time for everyone involved. We try to make this move as easy as possible and encourage clients and their families to spend time visiting the home, talking to staff and getting to know other service users prior to their move-in date. These visits will help your loved one settle in more quickly and you will have the peace of mind that they are in safe hands and being well cared for.

Enjoying Good Food

Enjoying Good Food

Just as in many family homes, meal times are a special part of the day in our nursing homes. Meals provide a chance for service users to come together, enjoy good food and socialise with friends. We understand the importance of good nutrition and we provide fresh, seasonal, healthy meals which cater for individual tastes, dietary needs (both medical and allergies) and cultural preferences. Many of our residential care homes use fresh local produce and some even grow their own food in their gardens.

Staying Active

We support service users to follow their hobbies and interests and we will do everything we can to help them to continue enjoying their favourite activities. Our regular activities include flower arranging, gentle exercise classes, quizzes, bingo and art classes, as well as garden activities. Most of our care homes have landscaped gardens which are perfect to relax in or stroll around when the weather is warmer. All are welcome to help out with weeding, sowing and general upkeep of the garden, from those with green fingers to those who have never lifted a trowel in their life!
