In-Home Care in Colchester, Essex

We understand that to most people, home is where they are happiest, most comfortable and feel safest.

When a loved one needs a helping hand with their care, it can be a worrying time as first thoughts may turn to whether or not they need to move into a care home. Thankfully, however, there is another option and this is where domiciliary care comes in.

Domiciliary care is care that is provided in someone’s own home.

Many of our clients have lived in the Colchester area their entire lives, and have full, thriving social connections as well as feeling part of the local community, but there may be elements of their lives that need some additional support. Domiciliary care enables life to continue as close to normal as possible.

Colchester Home Care Provided by Local Carers

One thing that makes us so unique is that we only operate within Essex and therefore most, if not all, of our carers are local.

We have four care homes in the region (Colchester, Braintree, Walton-on-the-Naze and Alresford) all of our local carers are based at the nearest care centre for that location.

Personalised In-Home Care for a Wide Range of Conditions

Our team of carers in Colchester have expertise in providing personalised in-home care for a wide range of conditions, including:

    • Acquired brain injury

    • Arthritis

    • Asthma

    • Autism (ASD)

    • Bipolar disorders

    • Cerebral Palsy

    • Diabetes

    • Epilepsy

    • Obsessive-conditions disorder (OCD)

    • Schizophrenia

    • Scoliosis

    • Sensory impairments

Our domiciliary care service can help with a range of needs such as assistance with:

    • Personal care

    • Housework and cleaning

    • Shopping

    • Attending medical appointments

    • Medication

    • And more

Typically we find that many of our clients only require around 30-45 minutes of help each day which means care at home can be significantly cheaper than full time care in a care home.

Our care services are 100% tailored to meet each individual's specific needs, so if additional care is required, we can discuss this during your initial care consultation.

Why Choose Butterfly’s As Your Homecare Provider?

We are a family-run, local care provider, supported and part-funded by Essex County Council. Our team of professionally trained carers are all aware of how important it is that both you and your family feel listened to and cared for. We ensure that we do not use agency staff as we know that many of our clients build up relationships with our local care-givers who know the area and are able to take them shopping or have a chat about things that they like to do in the Colchester area. Because all of our carers are local and based at our Colchester Care home, there is always someone close by to offer support which can be very reassuring to know.

For our elderly clients, domiciliary care may be the initial stepping stone that will eventually lead to either requiring a live-in carer or moving into a care home full time; both of which are something that Butterfly’s can provide. This helps provide continuation of care throughout which can make any transitions less challenging further down the line.

For others who may require support due to a disability, home care may be all they ever need to help them to keep their independence and remain in the home they love so much. We understand that each person’s care and level of support may change, so we are always available to discuss and alter our care plans for you.

Fully Transparent Care via Our Online Portal

We actively encourage communication and feedback as we know that the best way to maintain and improve our service is to listen to the very people we are caring for and the people who love them. We believe this has played a hugely valuable role in our consistent score of “Good” in Care Quality Commission reviews. To add another level of connection between us and you, we have an online system which allows loved ones to see the notes from each day. This enables both you and your family to be a part of the care you receive. This system is used by all our care-givers to book in and out, find out their responsibilities for the day and also log the notes for the client and their families to view. Not only is this an efficient way of ensuring that all duties are met, it also allows us to track and monitor everything that is noted, to help us flag any concerns.
