Care Home Life

Our care homes will change your mind of residential care for good.

We appreciate that moving into residential care is a major life change and one that takes some getting used to. Our teams therefore work doubly hard to help our service users feel at home, and to give their family support at this stressful time.

We are committed to activity based care, giving service users the freedom to continue doing the hobbies and activities they've always loved. We support them to spend quality time with family and friends and to play an active part in care home life

All our care homes are bright, clean, warm and loving settings where carers and service users develop strong bonds and enjoy spending time together. Our carers pride themselves in making mealtimes and menus enjoyable and fun, and if a service user wants to have a cup of tea and a one-on-one chat, that's fine by us too. We recruit our staff teams as much for their big hearts as for their impressive skills. Ask any of them and they're likely to tell you that its those little jokes, shared stories and quiet moments with service users that make their work so rewarding.

We want service users and their families to look upon our care homes as their own - from the very first day they move in. So, as a valued family member you are welcome to drop in anytime and to stay as long as you like. Our homes have active relative and service user committees to encourage feedback, to make plans and to share information. We'd love you to get as involved as you can.

Moving in and forging relationships

we understand that a loved one's move into a care home can be a difficult time for everyone involved. We try to mke the move as easy as we can and it helps if families and loved ones get to know members of our care team ahead of their moving in date. So, we reccomend that you spend time visiting the home, talking to staff and getting to know other service users. These visits will help your loved one settle in more quickly and you will have the peace of mind that they are in safe hands and being well cared for.

Enjoying good food

Just as in many family homes, meal times are a special part of the day in our care homes. Meals provide a chance for service users to come together, enjoy good food and socialise with friends. We understand the importance of good nutrition and we provide fresh, seasonal healthy meals which cater for individual tastes, dietary needs (both medical and allergies) and cutural preferences. many homes use fresh local produce and some grow their own food in their gardens.

Staying active

We support service users to follow their hobbies and interests and will do everything we can to help service users to continue enjoying their favourite activities. Our regular activities range from flower arranging and gentle excerise classes to quizzes, bingo and art classes. Most of our homes have landscaped gardens which are perfect to relax in or stroll around when the weather is warmer. Service users with green fingers - or those who have never lifted a trowel in their life - are welcome to help out with weeding, sowing and general upkeep.
