Autism & Sensory Impairment
"We offer flexible, individual supported living for learning disabilities and other complex needs"
Around 700,000 people in the UK are on the autism spectrum. Together with their families they make up around 2.8 million people whose lives are touched by autism every single day.
What is Autism?
Autism is a lifelong, developmental disability that affects how a person communicates with and relates to other people, and how they experience the world around them.
Many people on the autism spectrum have difficulty processing everyday sensory information. Any of the senses may be over- or under-sensitive, or both, at different times. These sensory differences can affect behaviour, and can have a profound effect on a person’s life.
Here at Butterflys we understand these difficulties, our outstanding team of healthcare professionals have an excellent track record of providing detailed, high quality, support and enablement for people with Autism and Sensory Impairment.
